Dabstars was founded out of the medical movement in 2013 by Jonah Sanford, locally known as Jonah Tacoma. Recognizing that people that were gaining rock star status in the Washington cannabis scene, Jonah set to work creating a roadmap of the industry, a who’s who of cannabis.
Today the company continues to maintain its core mantra, recognizing people, products, and businesses that have stood out in their niche of cannabis, taking home numerous awards. Jonah himself has been featured on the cover of Northwest Leaf’s Activists issue as well as Dope Magazines Dopest of 2018 and continues to be active in the community, working with farmers across the country to hand select the entire Dabstar product line, now available in WA, OR, NV, & AK.

David Tran, Co-founder and VP of Branding at Dope Media. Beginning his business endeavors as an event producer and promoter, David built a name in the nightclub industry in Seattle beginning in 2004. Then, shortly before co-founding Dope Magazine in 2011, he co-founded the Seattle medical marijuana dispensary Conscious Care Cooperative. In 2018, David and Dope Media were acquired by Hightimes.
