With the organic movement becoming an issue in this burgeoning Cannabis industry, we decided to dig into the importance of having clean products because while pesticide use is commonplace, it’s still dangerously unregulated. This week’s episode comes from the original Hype House dispensary in Everett, Washington, a state with the highest cannabis taxes in the world, but no effective pesticide mandate. Joining us here is retail owner Ian Eisenberg of Uncle Ike’s who initiated a controversial program called Ike’s OK which independently tests products for banned pesticides, then publicly publishes the results. We also had the opportunity to sit down with Shawn DeNae Wagenseller who founded a prominent indoor grown farm, Washington Bud Co, and only grows products in compliance with Department of Health pesticide and heavy metal standards. Here on LEAF LIFE we explore the soul searching reasons that drive someone to choose consciousness over profit.
